LSU football will likely be without its top wide receiver when the Tigers face South Carolina in Week 7. According to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Aaron Anderson is considered doubtful for Saturday’s game.
Anderson left LSU’s loss vs. Ole Miss and did not return. LSU head coach Brian Kelly said Anderson was dealing with a variety of injuries. Anderson had some pain in his hip, toe, and knee.

Last week, Kelly expressed confidence in Anderson’s status.
“I think modern medicine will get him ready for South Carolina,” Kelly said.
But Anderson remained questionable through the week and Kelly said Anderson was still day-to-day when asked on Thursday. If Anderson can’t go, Kyle Parker is expected to be LSU’s primary slot wide receiver.
Anderson is a significant loss for the LSU offense. He leads the Tigers with 305 yards and is one of Nussmeier’s favorite targets on third down. LSU has struggled to establish the run game and downfield passing attack, which has made Anderson critical to LSU’s game plan thanks to his ability to work the middle of the field.
LSU and South Carolina will kickoff from Tiger Stadium at 6:45 p.m. CT on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
