LSU football head coach Brian Kelly updated the injury status of running back Caden Durham on Wednesday, three days away from a matchup with No. 11 Ole Miss.
“We’re going to list him as questionable,” Kelly said. “Depending on how he moves during practice, he could move from questionable to probable or questionable to out.”

Durham is dealing with a sprained ankle suffered in the second quarter of the No. 4 Tigers’ Week 4 game against Southeastern Louisiana. After being tackled while taking a carry, he was slow to get up and then limped to the sideline. He didn’t return to action.
The sophomore ball carrier has 213 rushing yards through four games in 2025. He took two for touchdowns and one for a long of 51 yards. Durham also contributes in the passing game, catching eight passes for 39 yards.
Should Durham be sidelined against the Rebels, LSU will need to rely on Ju’Juan Johnson, Harlem Barry, and Kaleb Jackson. Johnson rushed for a game-high 43 yards and two scores last week while Barry, a true freshman, followed with 28 yards.
LSU’s offense struggled to establish the run game so far in 2025. It was a focus of improvement this offseason under second-year offensive coordinator Joe Sloan, but with the featured back out, the task just got that much harder against one of the SEC’s best teams.
