Brian Kelly hopes to score a major recruiting assist from headlining five-star prospect who aims to build stacked class for LSU Tigers originally appeared on A to Z Sports.
Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers have put together one of the strongest 2026 recruiting classes in the nation thus far, but the work isn’t over yet. Just after landing elite five-star athlete Lamar Brown, Kelly and his staff have been able to see the leadership traits galore. The expected defensive tackle and No. 1 recruit along the defensive line is working his social media magic on a fellow top prospect.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder opted for LSU over Texas A&M, Texas, and Miami. Now, the Louisiana native wants Blaine Bradford to also stay within state lines.
Bradford, however, committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes as a five-star safety.

Part of Brown’s pitch is the euphoria that comes with representing Louisiana in Tiger Stadium.
“It just feels good to play for my state and city. Not just for three or four years but for years after football life. I’m just blessed to be in this position and ready to play in Tiger Stadium,” Brown said.

Bradford is a big-time target for Brown. The No. 2-ranked safety in the class is trailing only Brown as a Bayou State prospect. But Bradford has been steadfast in preaching about how he likes what Ohio State is pitching him.
“It has been about consistency with Ohio State,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons prior to his commitment. “I have had a lot of good conversations with coach Ryan Day and I can talk about anything with coach G (Matt Guerierri).”
“They won a national championship this season, they can put people into the NFL every year and they have great people around the program.”

Still, LSU isn’t out of this. Former Ohio State Director of Player Personnel Sam Petitto is now at LSU, and Petitto has deep ties to the region. It’s possible he could help Brown lead the charge to make a big flip. Petitto spent just under a decade with Nick Saban at Alabama before coming to the Buckeyes.
Another Louisiana native, Petitto can make a relatable case to Bradford. So can his brother, Jacob Bradford, who is a freshman currently at LSU.
The odds seem to be in LSU’s favor for a flip, but it’s possible the 6-foot-1 hybrid defender sees Caleb Downs as the player to follow in Columbus.
