An eight year old British Junior Champion golfer from West Sussex has been named the first official young golf ambassador at Slinfold Golf and Country Club near Horsham.
Billy Stott from Slinfold has been supported by the club since he first picked up a golf club at the age of five. With coaching from the Slinfold team and backing from his family he began competing locally before quickly making his mark at regional and national level.
His recent successes include winning the under seven boys title at the 2025 Champion of Champions World Championship in Ireland, overall honours on the Sussex Junior Development Tour and a top ten finish at the Faldo Futures Under 9 Final at The Belfry.
Billy receives weekly coaching from PGA qualified professionals and has now been gifted free junior membership as the club continues to support his ambition of becoming a professional golfer.
His father Ollie said the club has provided the ideal environment for Billy to develop, praising the junior coaching, supportive culture and facilities that help young players learn with confidence and enjoyment.
General manager Luke Blacker said the club is proud to support such an exceptional young talent and highlighted wider investment in junior golf.
Junior membership has more than doubled in the past year, several players have been selected for Sussex squads and the club now runs one of the largest junior competition programmes in West Sussex, alongside school taster sessions and holiday golf camps.
