In her return, Griner tallied two points and two rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench. It was her first time coming off the bench all season, as Atlanta wanted to manage the nine-time All-Star’s minutes. Appearing in 26 games this season, her 12th in the WNBA, Griner is averaging 10.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per contest.
The Dream are currently 20-11, which is good for the league’s third-best record.

Atlanta Dream Facing Pressure to Make Organizational Change
While Griner’s return has been one of the more prominent WNBA storylines of late, it has not been the only talk around the league — or even her own team. On Monday, the Golden State Valkyries unveiled their new mascot, Violet the Raven.

Fans were quick to share reactions, with many pointing out that Atlanta remains without a mascot. Despite being a WNBA franchise since 2008, the Dream do not have a mascot, while Golden State already has one in its inaugural season. Calls have been mounting for this to change.
“When is dream getting a mascot?” a fan asked on X. “They need to get on that!”
“& yet the Dream still don’t have a mascot,” said another.
“@AtlantaDream now how did a new team get a mascot before us???” another asked. “Atlanta Dream need a mascot!”

“Atlanta Dream mascot better be the prettiest shade of blue ever,” one added. “Gotta be true hip hop with og swag.”
Brittney Griner Weighs in as Calls Mount for Dream Mascot
As calls were pouring in for Atlanta to get a mascot, Griner herself weighed in. Replying to a post on Threads that demanded the Dream get on this, the star center delivered a three-word message.
“That’d be crazyyy,” Griner wrote.
Despite being in her first season with the Dream, Griner has quickly connected with the fanbase. The two-time WNBA scoring champion is active on social media, mostly Threads, and is always showing love to fans before and after games. Affirming those who believe Atlanta should have a mascot, Griner received some positive reactions to her post.
