For two of Boston’s Minor League affiliates on Tuesday, that combination also led to victory twice.

Jhostynxon’s big night started in the second inning. With Kristian Campbell on first, the 22-year-old swatted his 10th homer at the Minors’ highest level, lacing a slider 422 feet into the parking lot beyond the left-field berm at CHS Field. The jack off right-hander Randy Dobnak (Twins) left his bat at 107.3 mph.
After roping a line-drive single in his next at-bat, “The Password” — who picked up the moniker because of the unique spelling of his first name — unlocked his second multihomer game of the season in the fifth, clubbing his 14th homer of the year 415 feet with an exit velocity of 109.1 mph off right-hander Trent Baker.
The elder Garcia, MLB’s No. 96 prospect, has been a revelation this season. After emerging with a career-high 23 home runs last year across three levels and slashing .256/.355/.393 over his first 33 games of 2025, the club’s No. 3 prospect has upped the ante at Triple-A, posting a .932 OPS through 44 games since his promotion on May 20. His 14 homers across two levels are the most of any Red Sox Minor Leaguer this season.
But Johanfran has put together a solid season in his own right. After suffering a knee injury that sidelined him for most of the 2024 season and the first two months of 2025, Boston’s No. 23 prospect has settled in this month. The 20-year-old backtop has compiled a .289/.349/.474 slash line and reached base in all 10 contests in July.
Following a leadoff double by Nelly Taylor (BOS No. 19) in the bottom of the ninth, Johanfran stepped to the plate with Greenville down by a run at Fluor Field — 1,107 miles southeast of his brother.
A base knock would have likely plated Taylor — who sports plus speed — and kept the line moving, but that wound up not being necessary. Johanfran ambushed the first pitch he saw from righty Joey Danielson (Rangers), hammering a laser over the Greenville Monster.
His Drive teammates mobbed Johanfran at the plate, celebrating his second homer in as many games.
Signed just three years apart, the brothers from Venezuela could eventually be reunited at Fenway Park, but they’ll need to wait a little longer to be granted access to that.
