Brown University announced Tuesday that it had canceled its men’s basketball game against USC on Sunday in Los Angeles. Sunday’s women’s basketball game against Monmouth has also been canceled.
The decision comes in the wake of a shooting on the Brown campus Saturday morning in Providence. Two students were killed, and nine were hurt in the tragedy. The shooter has yet to be identified.

USC athletics announced that it was a mutual agreement to cancel the game. The Trojan men’s team (10-1) will still play on Sunday at the Galen Center, but its opponent has not yet been announced.
“The entire USC community sends its support to Brown University following the tragedy that has impacted its students, staff, alumni and the city of Providence,” USC wrote in a statement.
Brown’s next scheduled game is at home on December 31. The Bears women’s team is set to host Wheaton on December 29 in its next contest.
