Schwarber barreled a 2-0 changeup from Lucas Giolito, sending a two-run homer into the right-field stands. It was Schwarber’s 34th homer of the season.
Harper crushed a first-pitch fastball down the middle of the plate, sending the pitch even deeper to right. It was the 350th homer of Harper’s career, joining only eight active players to reach that mark (Giancarlo Stanton, 434; Mike Trout, 395; Paul Goldschmidt, 370; Manny Machado, 360; Freddie Freeman, 353; Nolan Arenado and Aaron Judge, 351).
Harper (32) is also the youngest active player to have reached that milestone.
“Yeah, pretty awesome, obviously on an individual note,” Harper said. “Super happy about it.”
The ball left Harper’s bat at 110.8 mph and traveled a projected 439 feet, both season bests.
Schwarber has been one of baseball’s best hitters this season, with his .940 OPS the fifth-best mark in the Majors. Harper is batting .400 (16-for-40) with nine doubles, five home runs, eight RBIs and a 1.467 OPS in his past 10 games.
