The 29-year-old England National Cricket Team pace-bowling all-rounder Brydon Carse escaped a Mohammed Siraj-like dismissal during the fourth Test against the India National Cricket Team.

However, moments later, when Brydon Carse got out, Mohammed Siraj was seen hilariously mocking the Englishman at Old Trafford in Manchester on Saturday, July 26.

Brydon Carse scores 47 in the Manchester Test

Carse has time and again shown his capabilities with the bat in the ongoing Test series between India and England, and he once again looked in good touch in the Manchester Test.

He came out to bat after the dismissal of the all-rounder Liam Dawson and stitched up a crucial partnership with his captain Ben Stokes, who played a sensational knock of 141 runs.

Brydon Carse provided his skipper with excellent support by playing an attacking brand of cricket on his arrival in the middle. With his aggressive batting, he pushed India on the back foot and built a 95-run stand in 96 balls with Stokes.

As Brydon Carse was going great guns, he nearly got out to Washington Sundar in the 157th over. On the fifth ball of the over, Carse inside edged a delivery from Sundar that rolled towards the stumps.

However, the England pace-bowling all-rounder showed great presence of mind and managed to tap the ball away before it hit the stumps.

But, on the first ball of the next over, Carse lost his wicket to Ravindra Jadeja. Brydon Carse tried to slog behind square and was caught by Mohammed Siraj in the deep.

The Indian pacer was seen mocking Carse and having fun with the crowd as he gestured, throwing away the ball behind the boundary after taking the catch. England were eventually bowled out for 669 in 157.1 overs

Watch: Brydon Carse escapes Mohammed Siraj-like Lord’s Test fate

Notably, Mohammed Siraj had gotten out in an unfortunate manner in the Lord’s Test as on the fifth ball of the 75th over, spinner Shoaib Bashir bowled a tossed-up delivery outside off-stump to Siraj, who defended well, but the ball rolled onto the leg-stump to dislodge the bails and India got bowled out for 170.

It’s a tough game, isn’t it – Michael Atherton

Speaking during the Lunch break on Day 4, the former England National Cricket Team captain Michael Atherton claimed that England completely disintegrated India.

“It’s a tough game, isn’t it. [Former Australia captain Steve Waugh] used the term ‘mental disintegration’, which is about what we just saw,” Michael Atherton said on Sky Sports.

“You’re keeping a team out in the field for 150-160 overs, that’s how you disintegrate a team. The openers have got to come out more than 300 behind – there’s probably no tougher situation in Test cricket – and so it was no surprise really that those two early wickets went. It’s a long way back from there.

“Jaiswal has had a funny old series really, some highs but also a few lows. And with Sudharsan, India have got a problem at No 3 because they can’t seem to settle on someone there.”
