After debuting in the AP Poll last week at #25, BYU moved up to #23 in this week’s AP poll. BYU is one of four ranked Big 12 teams along with Texas Tech (11), Iowa State (14), and Arizona State (25).
BYU is 4-0 on the season and one of 20 undefeated teams in college football as we wrap up the first month of the season. Freshman QB Bear Bachmeier has slowly had more put on his plate each game and has responded very well, accounting for 10 touchdowns and 0 turnovers. BYU’s defense has largely looked great and bounced back from a rough start versus Colorado with key adjustments to reign in the Buffs offense.

BYU has maybe its easiest remaining game of the season when West Virginia comes to Provo Saturday night. The Mountaineers are 2-3 on the season and coming off consecutive blowout conference losses to Utah and Kansas. BYU is currently nearly a three-touchdown favorite over WVU.
