The Indiana Fever had quite an eventful 2025 season. While Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald and Chloe Bibby suffered season-ending injuries, they were still able to make it all the way to the WNBA semifinals.
Indiana only lost to the eventual champions, the Las Vegas Aces, but not after pushing them to five games.

One of the most noteworthy aspects of the season for the Fever was the fact that they had 17 players suit up for them due to injuries. They had to add the likes of Aari McDonald, Odyssey Sims, Shey Peddy and Aerial Powers to hardship contracts in order to address their roster needs.
Unfortunately for the Fever, while the players had really bonded as they endured and overcame adversity together, the fact remains that they can’t keep everyone on the roster.
Only Clark, Aliyah Boston and Mikayla Timpson are under contract for next season since they are still on their rookie deals. The other members of the team are free agents, including fan-favorites Kelsey Mitchell, Lexie Hull and Sophie Cunningham.

In Powers’ YouTube vlog, Clark addressed the reality the Fever are facing when it comes to their roster and showed her appreciation for her teammates.
“Obviously not everybody can stay ’cause we had 17 people on our team,” Clark said when she and Powers discussed the team. “So, no matter who it is, you cherish those memories you got to spend with each other.”
It remains to be seen who will be left on the Fever roster, but one thing is certain: the team will have some tough decisions to make.

Indiana has already made it clear that Mitchell, who led the team in scoring with 20.2 points per game during the 2025 season, is their priority. But sure enough, the rest of the team has really stepped up and it will be hard to figure out who’s best to keep.
Players like Sims, McDonald and Powers have provided plenty of spark off the bench, while Cunningham gave Indiana some much-needed grit.
Regardless of what happens, as Clark said, she and the rest of the Fever created a bond and connection that will never be forgotten.
