The Cal men’s swimming and diving team celebrated senior day with a 205-54 win over the University of the Pacific on Thursday, Jan. 29.
Cal swept the swimming events with several NCAA cuts.
The Bears won the 200 medley relay in 1:24.07 with Evan Petty, Zachary Tan, Samuel Quarles and Nans Mazellier.
Cal’s Eduardo Moraes won the 1000 freestyle in 8:54.09, the ninth-best time in program history, to open the individual events.
It was the start of a dominating senior day for the Golden Bears.
Freshman Ryan Erisman won the 200 free in an NCAA cut of 1:33.28. He also won the 200 back in 1:45.03. Tommy Roder won the 100 back in 47.18. Tan won the 100 breaststroke in 52.14 and 200 in 1:55.07. Petty won the 50 free in 19.60, just ahead of teammate Andrew Hallett (19.90) and Keaton Jones (19.93).
Cal’s Mateo Palmisani won the 200 butterfly in 1:43.14, an NCAA cut. Julien Rousseau won the 500 free in 4:18.37. Carter Lancaster won the 200 IM in 1:47.77.
The Bears went 1-2 in the 100 free as Nikolas Antoniou won in 42.55, an NCAA cut, and Yamato Okadome was second in 42.91.
The 100 fly went to Caspar Puggaard, who got to the wall in an NCAA qualifying time of 45.69.
Colby Hatton, Martin Wrede, Lucca Battaglini and Roder won the 200 free relay in 1:17.78.
