New versions of the Callaway Chrome Tour, Chrome Tour X and Chrome Soft won’t be available at retail for another week but don’t let that stop you from getting early access to one of the new balls via Callaway’s first limited-edition offering of the year.

Based on those ubiquitous Valentine’s Day candies that always taste like they’re a couple of generations old, Chrome Soft Hearts feature Callaway’s freshest take on Chrome Soft.
Unfortunately, getting the tech a week early means you’ll have to suffer through some tee-rrible golf puns.
Callaway Chrome Soft Hearts come in four distinct colors, each with one of those puns I warned you about.
- Green – BEST BY PAR
- Orange – TEE RIFIC
- Pink – LOVE BIRDIES
- Baby Blue – FORE YOU
Are these the worst golf puns ever? Probably not but it’s only January. It’s going to be a long year. At least, Callaway stepped up its packaging game.
How “limited” are we talking about?
It’s fair to say Callaway had mixed results with its limited-edition offerings last year. Some of the stuff I thought was fun (Chrome Tour Retro Football, Chrome Tour Turnbox) is still available while some of the more absurd stuff (Chrome Tour Cats) sold out fast.
Go figure.
I’m guessing Chrome Soft Hearts will fall somewhere between Chrome Tour Area 51 and Chrome Tour Dachshund but that’s just a guess.
The bottom line
Folks, it’s Chrome Soft with hearts on it. If that doesn’t immediately tell you whether this is for you or not, I can’t help you.
I suppose they’re perfect for the golfer who wants to show their romantic side while still three-putting from 15 feet.
For whatever it’s worth, my wife and daughter thought the box was nice.
