NEW YORK—Twelve years ago, Camila Giorgi toppled Caroline Wozniacki in a US Open upset on the Arthur Ashe Stadium blue court
This week, former WTA star Giorgi was back in the spotlight walking the red carpet at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
Former world No. 26 Giorgi, who won 430 career matches before retiring in May of 2024, shared these images of her Venice Film Festival appearance.
The 33-year-old Italian faced her fair share of controversy after retirement, including allegations of tax evasion, stolen furniture and faking COVID vaccination at the end of her career.
Giorgi vigorously denied those allegations and returned to tennis earlier this year working as a court-side TV reporter at the Buenos Aires tournament after relocating to Argentina.
