Alejandro Davidovich Fokina was not satisfied with his performance against Joao Fonseca in the Basel final. It was his fourth final defeat of the season. Shortly after the defeat, Alejandro prompted strong reactions on social media.

The public was not delighted about the performance of the Spanish tennis player, feeling that he needs to improve his game if he really wants to win trophies.

Davidovich Fokina, playing at the Paris Masters, managed to overcome two obstacles and defeat two French players.

His latest celebration caused a reaction from the public.

Playing against Artur Cazaux in the second round, he seemed to provoke the French crowd after the victory, gesturing that it was time for them to go home and sleep, imitating Steph Curry's 'Night Night' celebration.

The crowd was not overly enthusiastic and immediately reacted with boos.

Cazaux spoke to the media about Fokina's reaction, saying he didn’t take it personally.

The French tennis player admitted that he is not sure how he would react in a similar situation.

“Well, it’s true that the blue stand and the public were really there,” said Cazaux, as reported by the Tennis Gazette.

“There is a great atmosphere here in La Defense. It was great. I enjoyed that atmosphere with the public, but that’s it. That’s the game.

“He made his little celebration at the end. Everybody reacts their own way. It’s never easy to have the public against you. That’s the way he reacted."

Cazaux congratulates his opponent

Playing against the Spaniard is never an easy challenge, considering his superb performances this season. The Frenchman gave his all, wanting to put up a real fight, but unfortunately for him, Fokina was simply a better opponent.

Finally, he congratulated Davidovich Fokina on an impressive performance.

“I don’t know whether I would have reacted in the same way, but all I can do is shut up, because he played his match. He was better than I was. All I can say is bravo. It won’t be my fault if there is not very many French people behind him in the next rounds. But what we can remember from this is that he made a great match today, and well done.”- he concluded.
