The $6.1 billion sale of the Boston Celtics to Bill Chisolm is likely to close either late next week or the following week, according to Sportico.
The sale still needs to receive approval from the league’s board of governors.
Chisolm’s group will purchase the Celtics over two stages.
Chisolm is set to takeover as NBA governor from Wyc Grousbeck after the 2027-28 season.
Aditya Mittal will be the second largest stakeholder in the team, and could serve as an alternate governor in the future.
Sixth Street, a private equity group that already own a stake of the Spurs, will also have a stake in the Celtics. Firms can only have up to 20% stake in a team, according to NBA rules.
