Rebecca Allen, a 10-year veteran wing, led the way for Chicago with a game-high and season-best 27 points in the win. Angel Reese also recorded her seventh-straight double-double with a 15-point, 11-rebound outing against the Wings.
Wednesday’s win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Sky, which began on July 6 against the 18-3 Minnesota Lynx after a six-day rest.

On Saturday, the Sky will take on the Lynx once again. Minnesota has the WNBA’s best record and is led by MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier. She is currently averaging 23.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in her seventh professional season.

Before the game between Chicago and Minnesota, first-year Sky head coach Tyler Marsh spoke on Friday about the looming matchup between Reese and Collier.
“I think Angel plays Phee tough pretty much every matchup. I think that there’s a certain point with Phee, where it’s just like, you know, she’s gonna get her numbers,” Marsh said. “You just try to make it as difficult as possible, and I think that Angel does a good job of being physical with her and not bailing her out, making her work for everything, and that’s all you can ask for.”
Marsh went on to talk about how Reese, who is averaging 13.3 points and a career-best 3.8 assists per contest, also does a great job of putting pressure on Collier defensively.

“She returns the favor on the other end, too,” Marsh said. “Angel tries to attack her on the offensive end as well, so I think they’ve got a good competitive spirit and relationship when they match up against each other. Angel is always ready for the matchup.”
Reese and Collier will face off on Saturday and Monday in back-to-back games. After that, the two will team up for Team Collier in the 2025 WNBA All-Star game on July 19.
Saturday’s game will tip off at 1:00 p.m. ET at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
