2026 NFL free agency: Best team fits for the top 50 players | ESPN

24. Travis Etienne Jr., RB

Best team fit: Kansas City Chiefs

Etienne has the play speed to upgrade a Chiefs run game that ranked 25th last season (106.6 yards per game). And with his dual-threat ability as a pass catcher, Etienne would be schemed on screens and backfield releases in coach Andy Reid’s system. This is a move to add more juice and big-play ability to the Kansas City offense. Etienne’s 26 rushes of 10 or more yards with Jacksonville tied for 12th in the NFL last season.

Tyreek Hill Next Team Odds: Is Kansas City Reunion in Cheetah’s Future? | FOX Sports

Chiefs: +300 (bet $10 to win $40 total)
Bills: +600 (bet $10 to win $70 total)
Raiders: +800 (bet $10 to win $90 total)
Ravens: +800 (bet $10 to win $90 total)
49ers: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Eagles: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Patriots: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Chargers: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Broncos: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)

Here’s what to know about the oddsboard:

K.C. Reunion?: The majority of Hill’s superstar years took place with the Chiefs. Hill spent six seasons in Kansas City, making the Pro Bowl every year. He was also a three-time first-team All-Pro player, and won a Super Bowl with the franchise. He had at least 1,100 receiving yards in four of those six seasons, and tallied double-digit receiving touchdowns twice. In short, alongside head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, Hill was partially responsible for one of the most potent offensive attacks in NFL history. Now, if Hill were to return to Kansas City, the on-the-field reunion between the three K.C. stars might look a little wonky. Chances are Hill will miss at least a portion of the season due to his knee injury, and it’s unclear how much time Mahomes will miss, after he suffered a torn ACL in Week 15 of this past season. Lastly, it’s unclear if Kelce will return to the field next season, as speculation about his retirement has run rampant this offseason.

Proposed Hypothetical Trades Would Be Bad News for Chiefs | Sports Illustrated

On Monday, ESPN’s Senior NFL Writer Bill Barnwell wrote several trade ideas that would be beneficial for both teams involved. McDuffie was involved in this exercise, but we will not focus on that. Instead, we will cover hypothetical deals that would be detrimental for the Chiefs.

Broncos Strengthen Wide Receiver Corps

Barnwell has Denver sending cornerback Riley Moss, a 2026 second-round pick, and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for A.J. Brown and a 2026 fifth-round pick.

Not only would the Broncos add one of the best receivers in the league to their roster, but it would come at a relatively low cost, considering Moss has struggled at times, and the two draft picks are complete afterthoughts when the 28-year-old wideout is clearly the best asset in the deal.

Proposed bill could stop Missourians from having Chiefs-branded license plates | FOX 4

House Bill 3050, introduced by Missouri House Speaker Pro‑Tem Chad Perkins, aims to end the state’s emblem-use agreement with the Chiefs starting on Aug. 28. The bill was proposed on Jan. 22, about a month after the team announced it was moving across the state line.

If passed, it would change the current Missouri law that allows the team to collect a $35 emblem-use fee from Missouri vehicle owners who purchase a Chiefs-branded specialty plate. It would also prevent any new specialty plates from being issued after that August date.

This bill would have no impact on other teams’ emblem-use agreements in Missouri, and previously obtained specialty license plates issued before Aug. 28 would remain valid until they expire or are surrendered by the vehicle owner.

Agent: WR Mike Evans plans to return for 13th NFL season in 2026 | ESPN

Gilmore notified the team Tuesday of Evans’ intention to continue playing, and Evans will sit down with the Bucs in the coming weeks. They can come to an agreement on a contract extension at any time. Up until this point, it was not clear whether Evans, 32, would continue to play or possibly retire.

If he wants to hear what other teams have to say, the free agent negotiating period begins March 9 at noon ET, which is the earliest Evans’ agent would be free to talk to other teams. The earliest Evans could officially sign a deal with another team would be March 11.

The last time Evans was a free agent, in 2024, he re-signed with the Bucs on a two-year deal worth up to $52 million with $35 million guaranteed one week before the free agent negotiating period began.

Patriots to make Zak Kuhr the full-time defensive coordinator: Source | The Athletic

After moving Terrell Williams, who began the 2025 season as the Patriots’ defensive coordinator, to a new high-ranking role within the organization last week, the team plans to make Zak Kuhr the full-time defensive coordinator, a team source told The Athletic on Tuesday.

Kuhr, 37, had assumed play-calling duties early in the season from Williams, 51, who took a leave of absence from the team amid a fight with prostate cancer. Mike Vrabel announced that Williams was cancer-free last month. Meanwhile, Kuhr’s defense thrived and was a major reason the Patriots had so much success in the playoffs.

The moves for Williams and Kuhr help Vrabel keep intact some of the most trusted and impactful members of his staff. Williams has long been one of Vrabel’s top aides, dating back to their time with the Tennessee Titans in Vrabel’s first head-coaching gig. And Kuhr thrived in the elevated role even though he was once a college offensive coordinator, and even though 2025 was supposed to be his first year leading a position group in the NFL.

Special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia stepping down after four seasons with Packers | NFL.com

Bisaccia, 65, is stepping down following four seasons as the Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator/assistant head coach, NFL Network Insiders Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday. The team made the news official shortly thereafter.

“After taking some time to reflect over the last few weeks, I have made the decision to step down as the assistant head coach and special teams coordinator of the Green Bay Packers,” Bisaccia said in a statement released through the franchise. “I am incredibly grateful to Matt LaFleur, Brian Gutekunst, Ed Policy and Mark Murphy for their unwavering trust and support throughout my time in Green Bay. I am also thankful to the players for their consistent work and relentless effort to improve every single day. I would like to thank everyone in the organization for their dedication and commitment. The people in this building make it a special place to work.

Highly regarded after his time with the Raiders, which included a stint as interim head coach in 2021, Bisaccia arrived in Titletown with ample optimism, but the Packers’ special teams travails soured that.

Making decisions on the Chiefs’ 2026 free agents

1. Keep no matter what!

TE Travis Kelce
LB Leo Chenal

The Chiefs shouldn’t have to pay at the top of the market for either, but both Kelce and Chenal are really important players to the team that should be re-signed regardless of cost.

If Kelce wants to continue playing, Kansas City should welcome him with open arms. In 2025, he was arguably better than the previous two seasons; he is still a staple of the offense and locker room. If the Chiefs need to be creative with cap space to make a deal with Kelce work, it’s worth it for the legend. He should retire playing for the Chiefs and only the Chiefs.

Chenal’s situation in free agency will be weird because he’s one of the only true SAM linebackers left in the NFL. He has not proven to play every down, so that affects his price point. Chenal is valuable because he unlocks different fronts by aligning across the line of scrimmage. In playoff games against elite rushing teams, that has proven to be very valuable. The luxury of having that skillset is worth the cost.
