CLEAR PICTURE? Times and TV Schedule Released for Georgetown, BIG EAST

by

The times and broadcast information for the 2025-26 schedule of your Georgetown Hoyas has arrived, and it presents a somewhat complicated road map for Hoyas fans. For a conference looking to help a once-and-future flagship program build momentum under Coach Ed Cooley, the inconsistent tip-off times and fragmented broadcast schedule will demand a bit more effort from the Georgetown faithful who want to develop a relationship with the team this season. While the media-deal money is certainly the lifeblood of the conference, the Hoyas faithful are definitely asked to be flexible here.

Hoyas fans have long been accustomed to traditional weekend start times, but this year’s schedule deviates from that norm. The slate features three Saturday home games with 8:00 PM starts, a significant change from the typical noon or 1:00 PM slots.

This change of time for an apparent fan-friendly day of the week may prove challenging for families and those traveling to Capital One Arena. Hosting Xavier on December 20th at 8PM, without students on campus, seems like a gamble. Still, some folks seem to like the later Saturday tipoff.

Here is the schedule:

  • 10/18 (Sat) at 6:00PM at George Washington (EXH) on ???

  • 10/30 (Thu) at 7:00PM at Kentucky (EXH) on SECNetwork+

  • 11/3 (Mon) at 6:30PM vs Morgan State on ESPN+

  • 11/7 (Fri) at TBD at Maryland on ???

  • 11/12 (Wed) at 6:30PM vs Binghamton on ESPN+

  • 11/15 (Sat) at 12:00PM vs Clemson on Peacock

  • 11/22 (Sat) at 12:00PM vs Wagner on ESPN+

  • 11/27 (Thu) at 7:30PM vs Dayton on ESPN2

  • 11/28 (Fri) at TBD vs TBD on ESPN/ESPN2

  • 12/3 (Wed) at 8:00PM vs UMBC on truTV

  • 12/7 (Sun) at TBD at North Carolina on ???

  • 12/13 (Sat) at 2:30PM vs Saint Peter’s on ESPN+

  • 12/17 (Wed) at 8:30PM at Marquette on FS1

  • 12/20 (Sat) at 8:00PM vs Xavier on FS1

  • 12/22 (Mon) at 6:30PM vs Coppin State on ESPN+

  • 12/31 (Wed) at 8:00PM vs St. John’s on FS1

  • 1/6 (Tue) at 8:00PM at DePaul on truTV

  • 1/10 (Sat) at 6:00PM vs Seton Hall on FS1

  • 1/13 (Tue) at 9:00PM at Creighton on Peacock

  • 1/17 (Sat) at 12:00PM vs UConn on FOX

  • 1/21 (Wed) at 7:00PM at Villanova on Peacock

  • 1/24 (Sat) at 12:30PM at Providence on TNT / truTV

  • 1/28 (Wed) at 8:30PM vs DePaul on FS1

  • 1/31 (Sat) at 12:00PM at Butler on TNT / truTV

  • 2/4 (Wed) at 7:30PM vs Creighton on Peacock

  • 2/7 (Sat) at 12:00PM vs Villanova on TNT / truTV

  • 2/14 (Sat) at 8:00PM at UConn on Peacock

  • 2/18 (Wed) at 6:30PM vs Butler on FS1

  • 2/21 (Sat) at 6:00PM at Seton Hall on FS1

  • 2/24 (Tue) at 7:00PM vs Marquette on Peacock

  • 2/28 (Sat) at 1:30PM at Xavier on TNT / truTV

  • 3/3 (Tue) at 7:00PM at St. John’s on Peacock

  • 3/7 (Sat) at 8:00PM vs Providence on truTV

Both matchups against Seton Hall are scheduled for 6:00 PM on Saturdays, creating a season where weekend plans will require careful checking of the schedule.

The television and streaming landscape for the Hoyas is also fractured.

Fans knew from the Big East announcements that they would need access to a wide array of channels and platforms to catch every game, but few expected to see truTV this much on the schedule.

Peacock and FS1 will air the most games with seven apiece, followed by five nonconference matchups on ESPN+. Turner Sports will broadcast a total of seven games, with four on TNT/truTV and three exclusively on truTV.

The Big East announced that “TNT Sports will feature nearly 60 regular season men’s basketball games – including 30 in BIG EAST play” and “TNT will serve as its primary network, along with truTV, during the 2025-26 season – the first year of the new, comprehensive broadcast partnership between TNT Sports and the BIG EAST Conference.”

Only one game, the marquee home contest against UConn, will be featured on the main FOX broadcast network, while ESPN/ESPN2 will carry the two Disney MTE games.

The Big East reminded fans that “The upcoming season marks the first of a six-year media agreement, which will span from 2025-26 through 2030-31, encompassing coverage on FOX Sports (FOX, FS1), NBC Sports (NBC, Peacock), TNT Sports (TNT, truTV, HBO Max), and ESPN (ESPN+).”

This broadcasting puzzle is further complicated by non-conference matchups that are TBA. The home game against Clemson will be streamed on Peacock, a likely result of the Big East’s new television rights deal.

However, the road games against Maryland and North Carolina will almost certainly fall under their respective conference’s agreements.

This means Hoyas fans will need to look for the Maryland game on a Big Ten platform (like BTN, FOX, or Peacock) and the North Carolina game on an ACC outlet (such as ACCN, ESPN, ABC, or The CW!).

The Kentucky exhibition will be on the SECNetwork+, likely accessed via the ESPN app and logging in via your cable provider. Get ready to re-explain that process to your <gulp> millennial-and-older alumni who are still interested in the Hoyas.
