Clemson’s defensive success in the transfer portal continued late Tuesday with another addition in the secondary.

Former Auburn cornerback Donovan Starr has signed with Clemson, according to multiple reports. Starr was a four-star talent in the 2025 recruiting class and was also a Clemson target coming out of high school. He took an official visit to campus in June of 2024 before ultimately choosing Auburn.

Starr appeared in nine games as a freshman in a reserve role, with much of his playing time coming on special teams. Coming out of high school, he was ranked among the top players nationally and finished as the No. 1 prospect in the state of Tennessee, holding more than three dozen scholarship offers.

Starr becomes the fourth transfer portal pickup for Clemson in the past two days, joining Penn State defensive back Elliot Washington II, Cal linebacker Luke Ferrelli, and Old Dominion safety Jerome Carter. His addition gives Clemson four transfer commitments in the class, the most the program has ever signed through the transfer portal.
