CM Punk Seemingly Implies Anti-ICE Stance After Chicago Takeover

by

CM Punk isn’t one to keep his opinions to himself—especially when it comes to politics. And this week, the wrestling icon used his Instagram to make a clear statement without saying a word.

The former WWE Champion posted a series of Instagram Stories that strongly implied his stance against ICE and its actions in his hometown of Chicago. In the first slide, Punk reposted a list titled “Top 10 messed-up things ICE has done in Chicago,” which included allegations like targeting people based on appearance, detaining a local alderperson, and even using chemical weapons on a TV reporter.

Punk followed that with a screenshot of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s fiery response to Donald Trump, who had called for Johnson’s arrest. Punk shared the mayor’s words directly to his story:

“This is not the first time Trump has tried to have a Black man unjustly arrested. I’m not going anywhere.”

Punk didn’t add a caption or comment, but the message came through loud and clear. By reposting these slides, he aligned himself with those calling out ICE and backed the mayor during a tense political exchange.

This isn’t the first time Punk has weighed in on serious issues—he’s long used his platform to speak up for causes he believes in. And now, with his posts drawing attention to ICE’s controversial actions in Chicago, Punk is making it clear where he stands.

The timing also lines up with recent remarks from WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, who slammed ICE for what he called their “intentional cruelty.” Punk’s silence in the post might be louder than words—but the meaning behind it hit hard.
