Cody Rhodes just dropped a surprising update about his injury from Travis Scott—and it turns out the rapper did say sorry, just in sneaker form.
In a TikTok video uploaded on January 17, 2026, Rhodes revealed that he recently found a pair of Travis Scott’s shoes hidden in his own gear bag — months after that spot where Travis blew out Cody’s eardrum in front of a sold-out crowd.
“Remember Travis Scott? He slapped me in the ear. I didn’t even look in my bag—these were his shoes. I just had them forever. He secretly gave them to me after he slapped me in the ear, to make me feel better. Travis Scott—these were his shoes. He gave them to me because he blew my eardrums.”
This comes months after Cody Rhodes addressed the incident on Hot Ones in July 2025, when he confirmed that Travis Scott really did do damage in the ring. At the time, Cody admitted that while the likes of The Rock and John Cena were also part of the segment, it was Travis who caught him with the accidental strike. He said he initially wished someone else had been responsible, but there was no denying the truth.
“I wish I could tell you it wasn’t true, because I wanted someone else to get the credit for that. So you’ve got Rock in the ring, and you’ve got Cena in the ring. But my man Travis — nothing but love for him — he’s got a big old hand. So yes, it did bust my eardrum.”
And even though tradition in pro wrestling often calls for a “receipt” — returning a stiff shot with one of your own — Cody made it clear he had no intention of retaliating. He explained that Travis was a guest and that wrestlers today should embrace outside collaborators rather than punish them.
“If anyone ever wonders why I didn’t slap him… he’s gracing us with his presence. In wrestling right now, we’re getting all these fun folks, but years ago it wasn’t that easy.”
Now that Cody’s found the shoes — a private peace offering, it seems — the story feels complete: busted ear, no hard feelings, and a new pair of shoes to show for it.
