Colorado junior defensive end to transfer after injury plagued season

by

Colorado junior defensive lineman plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Okunlola joined the Buffaloes ahead of the 2024 season following two years at Pittsburgh. He started 10 games in 2024, finishing with 30 tackles, eight quarterback hurries, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, three third-down stops and a pass breakup. In 2025, he only played in the season opener before suffering a season-ending injury.

The Buffs sorely missed the Brockton, Massachusetts, native’s impact on a defensive line that struggled mightily against the run. He was projected to be one of the top defensive linemen on Colorado’s 2025 roster.

Okulola is set to enter the portal when it opens on Jan. 2 with one year of eligibility remaining.

The defensive lineman joins aΒ growing list of notable BuffaloesΒ planning to transfer. As of Dec. 27, that group includes running back Dallan Hayden,Β linebacker Shaun Myers,Β edge Alexander McPherson,Β wide receiver Omarion Miller,Β safety Tawfiq Byard,Β DT Jehiem Oatis, LB Mantrez Walker, andΒ DT Brandon Davis-Swain,Β among others.

As it is nearly every transfer portal cycle, the defensive line will be a significant emphasis for Deion Sanders’ staff as they work to assemble a more complete 2026 roster.
