WWE fans won’t get much from the Lesnar and Cena feud.
John Cena’s SummerSlam match was followed by Brock Lesnar’s shocking return to the ring. The Beast Incarnate is back, but he won’t be actually sharing any more space with Cena until their actual match.
Billi Bhatti of the Dirty Sheets Wrestling Informer podcast noted that due to scheduling conflicts, John Cena and Brock Lesnar won’t actually have any face-to-face time with each other until WrestlePalooza. This is due to Cena’s limited remaining dates and Brock Lesnar’s schedule.
“John Cena has 10 appearances left for his farewell tour. One of them will be this Friday night on SmackDown in Lyon. One of them will be at the Clash in Paris pay-per-view. Then he has two appearances to promote a match with Brock Lesnar — one SmackDown in Chicago and then he will appear in Springfield, Massachusetts.”
“The thing is, Brock Lesnar isn’t on any of the dates that John Cena’s on because he is scheduled to return to SmackDown on the 12th and he’ll also appear on the 19th — the day before WrestlePalooza. So John Cena and Brock Lesnar, whilst promoting their match, it appears, are going to be separated from each other. They’ll then wrestle at WrestlePalooza on September 20.”
John Cena’s retirement tour has a very limited number of dates attached, but they are working another match with Brock Lesnar into things. The build to that match will likely be hindered due to having no actual interaction between the two, but we can probably expect a promo battle from John Cena along the way to hype the match.
Only time will tell how things end for John Cena as he steps in the ring with Logan Paul at Clash in Paris. Brock Lesnar is already very much on Cena’s radar, as he delivered a message to the 17-time World Champion during SmackDown last week. We will have to see if Lesnar will shock us all by taking a trip to Paris.
