Caitlin Clark’s second season in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever officially came to a close a week ago. While her on-court campaign ended much earlier after suffering a season-ending groin injury before the All-Star break, Clark remained an energetic and vocal leader as the Fever made a run to the semifinals.
She is already the face of the league after just two seasons, thanks largely to the fame and recognition she earned during her historic collegiate career at Iowa, where she became the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer.

That success was further recognized on Thursday evening when the Associated Press named Clark one of the five greatest women’s college basketball players of all time.
She joins an elite first-team lineup alongside Candace Parker, Diana Taurasi, Cheryl Miller, and Breanna Stewart — a testament to her lasting impact on the game.
“Being named an AP All-American is one of the most storied honors in college sports,” Clark said in response to the news. “It means a lot to be named to this all- time list alongside players I looked up to. It’s fun to think about what it would have been like if we all played together.”

Beyond being the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer, Clark is a two-time Naismith and AP Player of the Year. She led all of college basketball in both points and assists for multiple seasons and guided the Hawkeyes to several NCAA Tournament appearances, including two national championship games.

Her incredible on-court achievements and her role in cementing Iowa’s relevance in women’s college basketball all contributed to her receiving this prestigious honor.
