With Iowa football (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) coming off a dominating 37-0 shutout win over Wisconsin, the Hawkeyes will be hosting one of their coveted 2026 recruits on Oct. 18 for their prime-time clash against Penn State (3-3, 0-3 Big Ten) from Kinnick Stadium.
That high-end recruit is in-state tight end prospect Luke Brewer, who hails from Norwalk, Iowa, and is regarded as one of the state’s recruits.

After he announced his reclassification on Sept. 16, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end from Nowalk High School is now ranked as the No. 21 overall tight end prospect and as the No. 6 recruit in the state of Iowa in the 2026 class, per 247Sports.

On June 26, Brewer revealed his top 12 programs that he will choose from, which included Missouri, Iowa State, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Miami, Notre Dame, Iowa, Texas A&M, and Florida. While it remains unknown if Brewer will remain locked in with those 12 finalists, the Hawkeyes will certainly have an excellent opportunity to showcase why Iowa is the right fit.
Brewer recently visited Tennessee for their 34-31 win over Arkansas on Oct. 11, which is the only other official visit scheduled thus far in his recruiting journey.

As for next year’s Iowa team, the Hawkeyes have three tight ends signed in their 2025 class in Mason Woods, Eli Johnson, and Thomas Meyer. The program’s 2026 class currently consists of 14 commits and ranks 30th nationally per Rivals. Iowa’s 2026 group of pledges features commits from nine different states, including four in-state commits.
Saturday’s game between the Hawkeyes and Nittany Lions will begin at 6 p.m. CT and will stream exclusively on Peacock.
