Raja Jackson’s merciless attack on Syko Stu at a KnokX Pro event is seen as an embarrassment on many levels. While an investigation is still going on, a criminal lawyer has now revealed the legal consequences everyone could be facing.
While speaking on his YouTube channel, criminal lawyer Bruce Rivers explained that Raja Jackson could face serious criminal charges, including aggravated assault and attempted murder.
The assault went far beyond a standard in-ring fight, with Raja continuing his attack after Syko Stu was already defenseless. Rivers noted that self-defense cannot be used as an excuse once an opponent is down, making Raja fully liable for the violence.
The livestream footage, which captured Raja planning the attack, adds evidence of premeditation. Prosecutors could argue that had the attack not been stopped, it could have led to Stu’s death, potentially raising the charge to felony murder.
“This is now an aggravated assault. These are not little guys. These are not weak guys. And the minute Stu was out, it’s over. If he dies, that’s at least felony murder. He would have killed him if you didn’t stop, right? I promise you he would have killed him.
Revenge is never a defense in a criminal case. Now, one could argue that you’re acting in self-defense. No, you’re acting in revenge. At this point, the fray is over, right? … You lose your right to self-defense when the fray is over. And if your opponent is defenseless, the fray is over. This is all premeditated and that’s part of an issue. He’s planning and not just this fake attack. He’s going to beat his ass.”
The wrestlers like AJ Mana and promoters who pushed Raja to attack could also get in trouble. Bruce Rivers said that telling him things like “give him his receipt” or “f*** him up” means they were helping in the assault.
By letting him in the ring and encouraging the attack, they made it worse. This could also be seen as negligence, which means they might be sued. Rivers said it wasn’t just poor judgment, it could have serious legal consequences.
“He’s encouraging him to do this. Give him that receipt. … So I mean you’ve got aiding, advising, counseling, conspiring, or otherwise procuring. Basically aiding and abetting. The wrestlers who told Raja to ‘f*** him up’ and the other one who said ‘give him his receipt’ could face accessory charges.
Well, he didn’t die. It’s not a homicide case… But one could argue that Mana’s actions… This is likely a stronger case for negligent homicide.”
Rivers said that if KnokX Pro staff told wrestlers not to talk to police, it could be a crime like obstruction of justice or witness tampering. Stopping people from helping an investigation is dishonest and illegal, and it could get the management in more trouble.
The lawyer also explained that the promotion itself may be most responsible. By letting Raja attack and not stopping it, they helped cause what happened. This means Stu could sue them for damages. Rivers added that their insurance might not even cover something like this, but the promotion could still face big lawsuits.
“The problem that you have here is he was encouraged to do this by people at the show… That’s accessory to a crime. It’s aiding and abetting. Absolutely. It is beyond negligence for them. They instructed and allowed this guy into the ring and to carry out the assault.
But telling other wrestlers and anybody to not talk to the cops is definitely obstruction to justice and not legal. Upper management to not talk with the police directly… That is extremely dishonest.
I would love to be Syko Stu’s lawyer on this deal because… Raja was coming for him and he was encouraged by the promoters. So Knox Entertainment… could face accessory charges. They probably have to have insurance. And whether this would be covered or not remains to be seen.”
Bruce Rivers’ analysis shows that Raja Jackson’s attack could affect many people, not just Raja, but also the wrestlers, promoters and KnokX Pro itself. With possible charges like aggravated assault, attempted murder, aiding and abetting, along with civil lawsuits, this incident could have lasting consequences for everyone involved.
