Scottie Scheffler's career has reached heights that some can only dream of. Although he showed great potential when he arrived on the golf scene, few expected that the 29-year-old would be such a dominant figure in the world of golf.
Scottie won two Majors this year, and by winning the US Open next year, he could complete his career Grand Slam.
Whether he will have the same difficult task as Rory or whether he will excel next year, it is difficult to give the right answer.
Dan Rapaport, an important figure of the golf scene, gave a forecast regarding Scheffler, believing that the popular golfer will not win more than 9 Majors.
Rapaport reminded the public that there are not many golfers who have won 10 Majors, wanting to indicate how difficult it is to achieve such success.
“I got caught up in the Rory McIlroy love fest after The Masters and said his over or under was nine. I don’t like that pick any more,” he said on Dan on Golf.
“But Scottie is a different beast. He has got four right now. But I am going to say under. Do you know how many players have won 10 major championships? Three. Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Walter Hagen. That’s it, that’s the list.
So every other golfer, you have Ben Hogan, Seve Ballesteros, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson. None of these guys got to 10. And I’m not saying Scottie won’t go down as a top 10 player of all time, but 10 majors is literally only three guys."
Who is the absolute leader?
Jack Nicklaus is still the leader when it comes to winning Majors, and the legend of this sport has won 18 Majors.
Although the public expected that Tiger Woods would have no difficulty in surpassing him, the 49-year-old has remained at 15 Majors, and it seems that this will remain just a dream.
Among the players who have won a large number of Majors are Walter Hagen, Ben Hogan as well as Gary Player and Tom Watson.
Scheffler is well on his way to surpassing some of them, but it is still early to make specific predictions.
