Dana White dismisses ads concern after UFC’s Paramount+ debut

by

A new era of mixed martial arts began Saturday night with UFC 324 officially launching Paramount+ as the new home of the sport.

While the card turned out to have several amazing fights, including the main event, fight fans were still left wanting more after an increase in advertisements disrupted the flow of the network’s coverage.

UFC president Dana White addressed the issue at the end of the evening and downplayed the situation. However, fans were vocal on social media about the issues they faced throughout the fight night.

Paramount+ is streaming fights for subscribers with their cheapest package coming in at $8.99 per month. But that doesn’t mean that fans aren’t going to be frustrated with constant ads during the biggest fights.

“It’s $8.99 … These guys have to some make money too,” Dana White joked during his press conference.

One reporter brought up the fact that UFC 324 saw many of the corner discussions between rounds cut out by ads. Those moments are typically interesting for MMA fans to hear what coaches and trainers are relaying to their fighters.

However, this will be a major talking point moving forward for UFC after signing a monster $7 billion deal in 2025. White and Co. agreed to make Paramount+ the home of the sport for at least seven years.
