Daria Saville reveals she played her last two Grand Slams pregnant while issuing the latest update on her pregnancy.
After losing to Madison Keys in the French Open first round, Saville didn't play any grass tournaments leading up to Wimbledon. At The Championships, the Australian lost to Panna Udvardy in the qualifying first round. The former world No. 20 then sat out the next month and a half before falling short to Jule Niemeier in her US Open qualifying first-round match.
In late September, the one-time WTA champion – who married Australian tennis player Luke Saville in 2021 – announced that she was pregnant with her first child.
"Why I won't be playing AO 2026," Saville said as she showed off a baby bump. The 31-year-old also captioned her post: "Played last two Slams of the year preggers."

Saville pulled off a Serena Williams
If you can recall, Williams was eight weeks pregnant when she won the 2017 Australian Open. While the tournament was ongoing, nobody knew about the pregnancy, as the American tennis star only revealed the news after completing a triumphant run.
“I don’t know how I did that, honestly. I didn’t tell anyone… I remember one time playing a long point against one player, and I couldn’t breathe. And I’m like, how does she not see that I’m not able to breathe right now, and so I just intentionally lost the next point just to kind of try and get my energy back. But then I was like: Why am I playing this far pregnant? This is nuts," Williams admitted in one of her interviews this year.
Saville may not have enjoyed much success while playing at Wimbledon and the US Open pregnant, but she still emulated Williams in some ways.
