Mohsin Naqvi’s sacking as PCB chairman demanded after loss to India: Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousaf has bashed the Pakistan Cricket Board for having individuals who hold personal grudges and are influenced by the ongoing politics. He has opined that under such leadership, Pakistan are now undergoing the darkest period in their cricketing history.
Pakistan cricket are currently undergoing the roughest patch, especially in ICC tournaments. Pakistan have failed to advance to a single WTC final until now; they have not played a 50-over ICC final since the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, and their last best ICC Cricket World Cup performance was back in 2011, when they made it to the semi-finals.
Pakistan have been undergoing several transitions in recent times. After Mike Hesson’s inclusion into the team, he has dropped Mohammad Rizwan, the seasoned batter, from the T20I side, and every great has been issued the ultimatum to perform if they want to retain their spot in the team. However, despite that, Pakistan cricket is yet to make a turnaround.

Mohammad Yousuf asks for the removal of Mohsin Naqvi from PCB
After their recent loss to India in the ICC T20 World Cup, former Pakistani captain Mohammad Yousuf has claimed that to bring Pakistan out of the darkest period of their cricketing history, they must remove political influence and individuals with personal agendas from the PCB.
“Unless we remove political influence and personal agendas from Pakistan cricket, we cannot return to the team we once were. This is the darkest period in our cricketing history, and my heart bleeds for it. Incompetent individuals must be removed from office and from the team,” tweeted Mohammad Yousuf.
Yousaf’s claim seems to be a direct attack on Pakistan’s current PCB Chief and the Interior Minister from Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi. It is evident that Mohsin Naqvi has often prioritised politics over cricket and has also had a personal grudge against the Indian team after they denied taking the Asia Cup trophy from his hands.
Yousaf also demanded the removal of incompetent individuals
Alongside asking for the removal of such politically influenced individuals from the PCB, he also asked for incompetent players to be removed from the Pakistan national team. However, the former star did not make it clear as to whom he implies is the incompetent cricketer.
Pakistan have failed a number of times in the shortest format of the game. However, the likes of Babar Azam could be the incompetent player, since he has failed to deliver in recent times, especially on occasions when it mattered the most for his team.
