San Antonio made a move for PG DeβAaron Fox at the NBA Trade Deadline back in February. Now, the Spurs have invested in him further for the long term with a max extension going into his first full season with the franchise.
Per ESPNβs Shams Charania according to his representation in Rich Paul at Klutch Sports, Fox has inked a four-year, maximum contract extension worth $229 million with San Antonio. That will set him as a piece for the Spurs through the rest of the decade until 2030.
βBREAKING: San Antonio Spurs star DeβAaron Fox has agreed to a four-year, $229 million maximum contract extension with the franchise, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told ESPN,β Charania tweeted on Monday afternoon. βThe max deal secures Foxβs future in San Antonio through the 2029-30 season.β
βFox and Paul were able to navigate a trade to his preferred destination of San Antonio in February and then secure this long-term extension months later β in a state with no income tax compared to his prior California residence,β wrote Charania later.
