Deion Sanders and Colorado are hiring East Tennessee State director of recruiting Devin Ruffin as assistant director of player personnel.

Ruffin heads to Boulder with his first major opportunity ahead of him. The St. Louis native joined ETSU’s staff in January and has been a major contributor over the past six months.
The announcement of Ruffin joining Coach Prime’s staff comes at a critical time with less than a month before the season starts. Sanders introduced Byron Leftwich earlier this week and named him a quarterback mentor. One of the several NFL coaches with more than 150 years of experience.

As for Ruffin, he’s preparing to take on a much-needed task at Colorado. “First I would like to start off thanking Coach Healy and the East Tennessee State Staff for believing in me and giving me my first college opportunity,” Ruffin wrote on X. “l’m blessed to announce I will be joining the staff at The University Of Colorado as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel”

Colorado welcomes Georgia Tech for a Friday Night Light affair on August 29. The opener will be broadcast on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET.
