The University of Texas recruiting class of 2027 just got a lot stronger. World Junior Champion Audrey Derivaux announced her commitment to the Longhorns on Monday, Nov. 17.
Derivaux, one of the top recruits in the country, made the announcement on social media.
“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to advance my academic and swimming career at the University of Texas. Thank you to Coach Carol, Coach Mitch, and the entire Texas coaching staff for giving me this opportunity. I would also like to thank my family, especially my mom and dad, for supporting me throughout my entire swimming career. Finally, I thank the lord for guiding me through this process. I am excited for this next chapter and I can’t wait to see what it brings. Hook ‘Em,” Audrey Derivaux said.
Derivaux is from Haddonfield, N.J., and member of the Jersey Wahoos club, and won four world junior championships this year in Otepeni, including three individual titles.
She won the 200 IM (2:10.58), 200 butterfly (2:07.57), the 200 backstroke (2:06.99) in a meet record. She added a relay gold, swimming the butterfly leg of the gold medal-winning 400 medley relay (3:59.85).
At age 14, Derivaux was a finalist in the 400 IM final at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis. She is third-fastest in history in the 400 IM for the 15-16 age group.
She has two 13-14 National Age Group records in the 200 fly (1:54.33) and 200 IM (1:55.73) – short-course yards.
