Did Auburn basketball remain ranked in latest national polls?

by

AUBURN — A blowout loss on the road against one of the nation’s premier team wasn’t enough to knock Auburn basketball from its top-25 status last week, and a less-than-inspiring victory against a mid-major foe yielded the same this week.

The Tigers stood pat in both national polls, remaining No. 24 USA TODAY Coaches Poll and No. 21 in the AP’s Top 25 Poll, both of which were released Monday, Dec. 15. Auburn played a single game this week, beating Chattanooga 92-78 in Atlanta.

There was little change in this week’s Coaches Poll. No team actually dropped out of the listing from last week to now, but half of the SEC’s ranked squads dropped, with No. 16 Alabama, No. 21 Florida and No. 23 Tennessee each dropping at least three spots. While Auburn held firm, No. 12 Vanderbilt and No. 14 Arkansas both moved up.

Here’s a full look at this week’s USA TODAY Coaches Poll.
