As was the case following Week 1, six upcoming opponents on Wisconsin’s 2025 schedule secured a position in the ranking. Ohio State remains at No. 1, with Oregon (No. 4), Illinois (No. 9), Alabama (No. 18), Indiana (No. 22) and Michigan (No. 23) also included.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers, who notched a 68-0 win over the Akron Zips on Saturday, were the only other Big Ten squad within striking distance of the poll. Matt Rhule’s squad received 10 votes.
Ohio State, which powered its way to a 70-0 win over Grambling State in Week 2 following a statement Week 1 win over Texas, led the top five alongside the Penn State Nittany Lions (No. 2), LSU Tigers (No. 3), Ducks (No. 4) and Miami Hurricanes (No. 5).
Most notably, the Wolverines dropped eight spots in this week’s poll after a 24-13 road loss to the Oklahoma Sooners. The Badgers venture to Ann Arbor for an Oct. 4 matchup, following their Week 3 game against the Maryland Terrapins.

Illinois, meanwhile, moved into the top 10 after trouncing the Duke Blue Devils 45-19. Wisconsin welcomes the Fighting Illini to Camp Randall Stadium on Nov. 22, a week before the final regular-season game of the 2025 campaign.
UW will now make the trek to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for its next tilt against the Crimson Tide. Alabama holds the No. 18 ranking ahead of Week 3.
