Dillon Danis’ return to MMA competition will have to wait due to the shenanigans he was part of during November’s UFC 322 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
According to Misfits Boxing, Danis (3-0) is out of its Dec. 20 event in Dubai because “he is not medically cleared to compete at this time due to the melee that occurred.”

“Unfortunately, Dillon Danis will not be competing at The Fight Before Christmas event in Dubai on December 20, 2025,” Misfits wrote in a statement posted on social media.
“Independent physicians have determined that he is not medically cleared to compete at this time due to the melee that occurred at Madison Square Garden last month.
“We want to be very direct: This call is being made solely by medical professionals. Dillon pushed for every possible path to remain on the card, but the doctors were not willing to clear him to compete this month.”
“Misfits Boxing takes athlete health extremely seriously, and we fully expect him back in the Misfits ring in 2026 to defend his Misfits MMA title.”
Danis and members of Team Nurmagomedov threw punches and toppled separation barriers at the Nov. 15 event. The incident, which was captured on camera by various attendees of the event, was condemned by New York mayor Eric Adams. As a result of it, Danis was banned from future UFC events by Dana White.

Danis, 32, was supposed to fight Bellator alumni Anthony Taylor (7-5) in a 180-pound bout and would’ve aimed to make it two wins in the same calendar year for the first time in his career. In August, he competed in his first MMA bout since 2019. He defeated debutant Warren Spencer by 15-second submission.
