Donald Trump has always been a person actively involved in the world of golf, most recently acting as a mediator in negotiations between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. Although both sides were open to negotiations and reaching a final agreement, it seems that even the US president was unable to calm the passions and make these two sides finally come to an agreement.
However, Donald Trump has several golf courses under his ownership, one of which is the Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg. If media headlines are to be believed, this golf course will be the venue for next year's Amgen Irish Open, with Rory McIlroy defending his title from September 10-13, 2026.
The DP World Tour previously announced the schedule for next year, and it was Donald Trump's course that attracted enormous attention and reactions from the public.
Rory McIlroy, after the conclusion of the last Irish Open, talked about the option of playing on this golf course next year and pointed out that he had heard rumors, but was not sure if it would actually happen.

"There’s no question but President Trump will be welcome.”- Martin said.
“The fundamentals are that we will continue to support that relationship because it puts bread on the table.”
