Women Masters – R1, Open – R2
Two open tournaments are taking place simultaneously. The A-Open features 16 players with a rating above 2500, including top seeds Matthias Bluebaum, Dmitrij Kollars, Dennis Wagner, Surya Ganguly and Luis Engel. The tournament is a 9-round Swiss open with a time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves plus 30 minutes until the end of the game and 30 seconds increment from move 1.
Starting 3 August, the Women Masters tournament is a four-player double round-robin featuring Elisabeth Paehtz, Dinara Wagner, 15-year-old Chinese champion Lu Miaoyi and Deimanté Daulyté-Cornette of France. The event uses the same classical time control as the open tournament.
