Drake men’s basketball falls to LSU in Florida tournament

Drake men’s basketball lost to LSU 71-62 on Nov. 28 at the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla.

The Bulldogs (4-3) trailed by 14 at halftime but cut the lead to six late in the game.

Drake was led by Jalen Quinn, who scored 20 points but fouled out with four minutes remaining. Jaehshon Thomas added 16 points. Griffen Goodbary had 10 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists

“I’m not into moral victories at the end of the day,” Drake coach Eric Henderson said. “Did we do some nice things? Certainly. And the thing that I take away most is we can grow from this. We had fight for 40 minutes I thought, especially in the first half.”

Drake plays Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. CT on Nov. 29.

LSU improved to 6-0.
