Dream11’s replacement for India Title Sponsorship Received

Dream11 pulled out as the BCCI’s title sponsor following the passing of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, in the Indian Parliament. According to a report by NDTV, a few companies have shown interest in joining as replacement sponsors ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

Dream11 has informed the BCCI of its decision to back out as Team India’s title sponsor. The fantasy sports platform has shut down its cash-based contests, which were the main revenue source for the parent company Dream Sports. Dream11 had signed a ₹358 crore jersey sponsorship deal in July 2023.

Toyota Among Contenders to Sponsor Team India After Dream11’s Exit

The BCCI has to look for a new jersey sponsorship partner after Dream11’s exit, just weeks before the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to begin on September 9 in the UAE. Notably, the pre-prepared jerseys for the tournament will now be scrapped.

According to an NDTV report, Toyota Motor Corporation and a fintech start-up have emerged as potential contenders to take over the sponsorship rights of the Indian cricket team.

“Toyota Motor Corporation and a Fintech start-up have all shown interest till now. However, the official tendering process has not started yet,” the report stated.

BCCI and Dream11 End Partnership Following Passage of Online Gaming Bill 2025

Dream11 executives recently met BCCI CEO Hemang Amin in Mumbai to end their partnership as India’s jersey sponsor. The board will now have to secure a replacement ahead of the Asia Cup. It is unlikely that Team India will take the field without a sponsor during the tournament.

“(Representatives of) Dream11 visited the BCCI office and informed CEO Hemang Amin that they won’t be able to continue… As a result, they won’t be the team’s sponsors for the Asia Cup. The BCCI will float a new tender soon,” the report quoted a BCCI official said.

BCCI and Dream 11 are discontinuing their relationship after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, was passed. BCCI will ensure not to indulge with any such organisations ahead in future,” BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia told ANI.

Asia Cup 2025 Set to Begin on September 9 in UAE

The Asia Cup, which will be played in the T20 format, begins on September 9 in the UAE, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi hosting the eight-team tournament. India, the defending champions, are placed in Group A alongside hosts UAE, Pakistan, and Oman.

Suryakumar Yadav’s side will start their campaign against the UAE on September 10, followed by a high-profile clash against Pakistan in Dubai on September 14. Their final group-stage match will be against Oman on September 19. The final is scheduled for September 28.

Asia Cup 2025 serves as vital preparation for Asian teams ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. India enters the competition as strong favorites with a well-balanced squad.
