Drew McIntyre Rips Young WWE Stars for Chasing Twitter Validation Over Veteran Advice

by

Drew McIntyre didn’t hold back when it came to younger WWE wrestlers, who clearly do not ask veterans for advice and prefer validation from social media.

While speaking on The West Sport, Drew McIntyre said that many new WWE talent don’t listen to advice from experienced stars and rely too much on what people say about them on social media.

The Scottish Warrior explained that every wrestler needs something special to make them stand out, no matter their size and used Rey Mysterio as an example of someone who became a superstar despite being small.

McIntyre said he often gives tips for free in interviews, but younger wrestlers focus on Twitter praise and think they’re doing great, even if they’re not on TV much. He also said that even with veterans ready to help, many still don’t take the advice.

“You’ve got to have something that makes you stand out. You could be 5’8” and still have something special that sets you apart. Look at Rey Mysterio — he’s a superhero and he’s 5 feet tall. You’ve got to find your thing that makes you stand out.

I give all this advice away for free in these interviews because all the new guys just listen to Twitter, and it tells them how good they are. They think, ‘I must be good, Twitter’s telling me I’m good,’ even though they’re not really on the show very often.

All these veterans are here to ask for advice, but they don’t. I give it out for free in interviews, and they just don’t bloody listen, do they?”

This comes after Drew McIntyre doubled down on his claim that 85% of the WWE roster do not look like they should even be in WWE. So it’s pretty clear McIntyre just wants the younger talent to take advice from veterans instead of being complacent thanks to the Internet Wrestling Community, so we’ll have to see if more talent will eventually heed McIntyre’s advice.
