Duke football’s CB Chandler Rivers, S Terry Moore named to the All-ACC preseason team

Duke football makes up half of the All-ACC Preseason Football Team secondary.

Senior cornerback Chandler Rivers and senior safety Terry Moore were named to All-ACC preseason team on July 31. The two are the lone Blue Devils on the list.

Rivers, a Beaumont, Texas native, is a returning First-Team All-ACC cornerback for the Blue Devils, tallying 54 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions and one sack in 13 starts in 2024. He has 164 career tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions and 1.5 sacks and enters the 2025 season tabbed as Pro Football Focus’ No. 5 returning cornerback and ESPN’s No. 7 defensive back.

Moore, a Washington, North Carolina native, started all 13 games for Duke last season, tallying 71 tackles, seven tackles for loss and four interceptions, leading the team in the latter category. In his three-year Duke career, Moore has made 19 starts with 116 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions and 3.5 sacks.

Rivers and Moore are two key returners in the Blue Devils defense, which finished second nationally in tackles for loss per game (8.9), second in fumbles recovered (14) and fourth in sacks per game (3.3) in 2024. Duke went 9-4 in its first season under head coach Manny Diaz along with a trip to the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

Duke football opened fall camp on July 28 and is set to open its 2025 season a month later on Thursday, Aug. 28, hosting Elon at Wallace Wade Stadium.
