MMA Fighting has DWCS Season 9, Week 1 results for all the action from season nine, week one of UFC’s Contender Series on Tuesday night at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
In the main event, the undefeated Ilian Bouafia (6-0) fights Neemias Santana (7-2-1) in a middleweight contest. France’s Bouafia has won five of his first six pro bouts by knockout and seeks a UFC contract just four years into his career. The more experienced Santana has competed for several well-known promotions, including LFA and Jungle Fight in his native Brazil.
In the co-main event, 25-year-old Ty Miller (5-0, 1 NC) takes on Jimmy Drago (7-2, 1 NC) in a welterweight bout. Miller has previously competed for LFA and CFFC, while Drago has also competed for CFFC as well as Ring of Combat. Drago recently spoke to MMA Fighting about his inspiring journey from battling drug addiction to chasing his UFC dreams.
