Elayna Black isnโt afraid to admit the WWE-TNA relationship made her think twice.
After spending four years under the WWE banner as Cora Jade, Black was released in May 2025. Now signed with TNA Wrestling, sheโs found herself in a company thatโs surprisingly working closely with the same promotion that let her go. That setup made her pauseโat least at first.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Black revealed that WWEโs growing partnership with TNA almost kept her from joining the company altogether:
โI think obviously thereโs always a little bit of that but right now โ I think maybe more so in the beginning, I was hesitant to come to TNA just because of how close the relationship was. I kind of felt like I needed to distance myself, which I think it was good, me taking that time off.โ
Black said that space helped her reset emotionally and professionally, giving her some much-needed separation from WWE.
โI feel very more far removed than I did at the time so, I mean, yeah, thatโs obviously always in the back of, I think, anybodyโs head who kind of gets let go and itโs like, okay, look what Iโm gonna do without you.โ
Still, she clarified she isnโt wrestling with revenge in mind.
โBut thatโs also not really my focus right now. My focus is just having fun and loving wrestling again and hey, if with that comes them being like, damn, we messed up. We should have kept her, then, hey, so it be but, thatโs not what Iโm looking to accomplish I guess.โ
Elayna Black is focused on herselfโand if WWE regrets letting her go along the way, thatโs just a bonus.
