Enjoy Illinois 300 at Gateway

by

The Enjoy Illinois 300 at Gateway this Sunday is going to set us up for the Round of 16 elimination race at Bristol. Who will rise and who will fall? And most importantly, who has the best-looking car in the NASCAR Cup Series?

We have seen Gateway host the Cup Series each of the last three seasons. This year, it is the second race of the NASCAR Playoffs. This unique, one-mile oval is going to test the Cup field as they race for a championship.

Does Team Penske dominate the Enjoy Illinois 300 again? Or will we see another driver rise and take the win, and a ticket to the next round, with them? Let’s get into these paint schemes and talk about the upcoming race.

Austin Dillon No. 3 Dow DayGlo Chevy

A little bit of a different look for the No. 3. Austin Dillon could be a sneaky choice to win this weekend. Kyle Busch won this race two years ago.

I’m not sure if Dillon has it in him to win another race this season. But I do know this car will look good on the track. 7.5/10.

Kyle Busch No. 8 Rebel Bourbon Chevy

Richard Childress Racing is bringing its best. Is this the race that Kyle Busch finally breaks that winless streak? Another Enjoy Illinois 300 win would be massive.

At this point, Busch is trying to salvage any good news from this season. This black Rebel Bourbon car would look good in Victory Lane. 8/10.

Ty Dillon No. 10 Draft Kings Chevy

Now, this is a sponsor that we usually associate with 23XI Racing. However, Ty Dillon is rocking the Draft Kings design this weekend in the Enjoy Illinois 300.

Dillon has done well in the Kaulig No. 10 car. At least, he’s done better than in previous seasons and any improvement for that car is welcomed. 8.5/10.

Ryan Blaney No. 12 Menards/Pennzoil Ford

Menards and Pennzoil together again. Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 team should have won this race a year ago, but ran out of fuel late.

Will Blaney springboard off of a win this week and make his run for Phoenix? We will find out in a couple of days. 8.5/10.

Chris Buescher No. 17 Body Guard Ford

RFK Racing has its own style and Body Guard fits that style so well. Black and orange is a great combo for a race car and this No. 17 Ford Mustang Dark Horse is no exception.

It has been a year since Chris Buescher won a race. Missing the playoffs this season was not in his plans. Can he bounce back with a win? 8/10.

Todd Gilliland No. 34 Morton Buildings Ford

Black and orange is great, but black and red is classic. Morton Buildings is back with Todd Gilliland and Front Row. This is a good-looking car.

Gilliland has not had the season he wanted. There is still time to make something of it, though. 7.5/10.

Tyler Reddick No. 45 Jordan Brand Toyota

Best paint scheme of the week? Another Jordan Brand paint scheme for Tyler Reddick this weekend in the Enjoy Illinois 300.

Reddick had a strong showing at Darlington. He can’t fall back to finishing mid-pack again. This car would be a good one to win in. 9/10.

Daniel Suárez No. 99 Choice Privileges Waffle Chevy

Is anybody else hungry? Daniel Suárez and Choice Privileges are bringing the waffles to the Enjoy Illinois 300.

While Suárez’s time at Trackhouse is coming to an end, he has a few more chances to make memories. And he has a delicious car this week, so that’s nice, too. 8/10.
