ESPN predicts the winner of Auburn basketball vs. Queens

by

The Auburn Tigers are set to play their final non-conference game before heading into SEC play. Auburn will host the Queens University Royals on Monday night at Neville Arena.

Who are the Queens University Royals? They are a school from Charlotte, North Carolina, and play in the ASUN Conference. Last season, they won 20 games and advanced to the second round of the College Basketball Invitational. This season has been a struggle at times for the Royals with a 5-7 record. Six of those losses have occurred on the road. They are led in scoring by Nasir Mann with 15.1 points per game. Mann also leads the team in rebounds and steals.

The ESPN Matchup Predictor favors Auburn with a 97.5% chance of winning over just 2.5% for Queens. This is obviously a game that Auburn should win, and they need a complete performance before playing Georgia on Saturday. The last time the Tigers played a game was when they lost 88-60 to Purdue. Auburn star point guard Tahaad Pettiford hurt his ankle in that game, but head coach Steven Pearl provided some encouraging news over the weekend.

Pearl said, “He’s good” after a great practice. Auburn will need Pettiford, along with Keyshawn Hall and others, to be playing well as conference play begins and the real season starts. The Auburn Tigers will host Queens on Monday night with a scheduled tip-off time of 9 p.m. CT. SEC Network will broadcast the game.
