by

The Clemson Tigers host the NC State Wolfpack in midweek play Tuesday to start the fourth week of ACC basketball play.

Clemson (16-3 overall) finds itself unbeaten and 6-0 in conference play after taking down a streaking Miami Hurricanes team that had won 10 straight games before Saturday. In the Tigers’ 69-59 win over the ‘Canes, Clemson jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the opening minutes and never trailed.

Carter Welling had a career-high 18 points, Jestin Porter added 11, and RJ Godfrey had 10 points as Clemson won its ninth straight overall since its last-second loss to BYU at the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 9. The Tigers also ended a 10-game Miami winning streak.

NC State (12-6, 3-2) carries no such streak into Tuesday’s game. The Wolfpack are coming off a 78-74 upset loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday in Raleigh despite 16 points from Quadir Copeland. Senior forward Darrion Williams leads NC State in scoring this season with 14.2 points per game.

BPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Strength of Record (SOR) is a measure of team accomplishment based on how difficult a team’s W-L record is to achieve. Game predictions account for opponent strength, pace of play, site, travel distance, day’s rest and altitude, and are used to simulate the season 10,000 times to produce season projections. Numbers update daily.”
