The song will be played throughout ESPN’s US Open coverage.
The 2025 US Open begins today with qualifying play and runs through Sunday, September 7th.
ESPN platforms will present 15 days of exclusive coverage of the US Open beginning for the first time on Sunday at noon ET and premiering on ABC. Streaming on the ESPN App begins at 11 a.m. ET until the end of play each day.
Daily marathon coverage from all courts – first ball to last ball – will culminate with the Women’s Singles Final on September 6th, at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN+, and ESPN Deportes and the Men’s Singles Final on September 7th at 2 p.m. ET on ABC, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes.
New Yorkers are familiar with the song made famous by New York native Ace Frehley.
For years, his song was played across the street from the National Tennis Center at Shea Stadium and then Citi Field to celebrate victories by the New York Mets, New York’s baseball team revered by tennis stars ranging from John McEnroe to Kim Clijsters to Martina Hingis.
The New York Knicks have also sometimes played the theme to celebrate home wins at Madison Square Garden.
Kiss famously performed the song at a concert beneath the Brooklyn Bridge.
