No. 22 Indiana men’s basketball’s first regular season matchup against No. 18 Kentucky in over a decade will feature a star-studded broadcast crew.
Legendary ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale will team up with basketball icon and fellow broadcaster Charles Barkley for the Hoosiers’ game against the Wildcats on Saturday, December 13, according to an official release from ESPN. The two, both members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball and Sports Broadcasting Halls of Fame, will be joined in the booth by play-by-play voice Dave O’Brien.

It’s the first of two matchups the two will provide commentary for and the only one of the two that will take place in the regular season. The second will be at the NCAA Tournament’s First Four next March.
Vitale has called more than 1,000 games during his time as a broadcaster, joining ESPN during its first year in 1979. Barkley, already famous for his legendary career on the hardwood, has added to his legacy with his work on television, most notably as a member of the Inside the NBA crew.
